GENDERS – Gender & Equality in Research and Science is the first university research centre in Italy focused on the theme of gender equality in scientific careers and aimed at expanding a gender approach in research, on both theoretical and methodological levels.

It was formed in 1995 within the Faculty of Political Sciences under the name ‘Centre for Studies and Research of Women and Gender Differences’ with the objective of promoting research initiatives, academic education, and dissemination activities from feminist, gender, and intersectional perspectives.
